the moral wardrobe: summer days

ethical summer style style fileboho outfit

I spent Sunday in this outfit, reading, cleaning, and making quiche with Daniel. It’s the perfect weekend look: shapeless and airy, but still put together.

I’m reading Under the Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakauer; it’s a fascinating look at the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) and its contemporary fundamentalist offshoots. More than anything, it’s made me further ponder gender roles, patriarchy, and marriage in historical context.

Ethical choices are bolded below:

  • Lace Top – TJ Maxx, made in USA
  • Dress – Old Navy
  • Shoes – Target (old)
  • Turquoise Magnesite Necklace – handmade via etsy

  1. Cute! I like that turquoise necklace. Is it just an organic shape, or is it shaped like a bunny? (I’m pretty sure it’s just a blob, but the longer I look at it I see shapes like it’s a cloud…)
