the moral wardrobe: statement bag

mustard cardigan look re7re5

I photographed this look for ModCloth’s Be the Stylist contest, choosing my beloved oxblood Aigner bag as my statement bag. I rarely use it because it’s been elevated in my mind to keepsake.

Coincidentally, I just dyed my hair a dark auburn that almost perfectly matches the hue of the purse. It was time for something a bit more brooding in honor of fall. I’d really like for the Government Shutdown to end soon so I can take in all the Autumn-clothed trees down Skyline Drive.

Ethical choices are bolded below. Retailers taking steps to become more ethical are bolded in gray.

  • Top – thrifted
  • Dress (worn as skirt) – thrifted
  • Cardigan – H&M
  • Purse – vintage Aigner via etsy
