the moral wardrobe: b & w dress

black and white striped dress mod striped dress outfit inspiration1920s inspiration

I finally found the perfect black and white striped dress! I’ve tried on half a dozen with no luck (too short, too tight, weird material, unflattering), but I had my eye on this one for a couple months. It was marked down last Thursday, so I finally bought it.

I love the way it looks with my new haircut. It’s like the 1920s crossed with the mod 60s.

Ethical choices are bolded below. Retailers taking steps to become more ethical are bolded in gray.

  • Dress – made in USA, via Threadsence
  • Cardigan – Old Navy (last season)
  • Leggings – Old Navy
  • Loafers – thrifted
  • Hand tatted necklace – Hill Country Hill Tribers
*After doing some research, I decided to stop labeling Gap Inc. products as partially ethical. They have a long way to go before they can rightly be labeled as such.

I love this dress- and you’re right, it really goes with your cute haircut! Can’t go wrong with b &w stripes 🙂

Thanks. I looked up the company and they produce in NYC’s garment district; it’s cool that I can support domestic production in an historically significant location.
