the moral wardrobe: I must confess I still believe

preppy outfit personal style: bluespleated skirt

Pleated schoolgirl skirts are forever tarnished (or elevated?) by the Hit Me Baby One More Time music video. I couldn’t get the song out of my head the whole day I wore this, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

I love the way this outfit came together: the mixture of prints and colors, the shape, the feeling. Sometimes things just work together.

Ethical choices are bolded below. Retailers taking steps to become more ethical are bolded in gray.

  • Colorblock t-shirt – Gap
  • Skirt – thrifted
  • Knee high socks – ? (old)
  • Loafers – thrifted

Haha, I feel the same way and think the exact same thoughts if I dress even remotely school-girl-ish! That made me chuckle. Regardless, you look so pretty! Blue really suits you.

Definitely elevated by the association with Britney, in my opinion! =P I really like that you tucked the color-block shirt into your skirt. It looks unexpected, in a good way.
