the shirt on your back

On the eve of the anniversary of the Rana Plaza collapse, I thought I’d share The Guardian‘s interactive documentary feature, The Shirt on Your Back, that recounts the events that led to a death toll exceeding 1,000 and follows up with garment factory workers in the weeks and months following the disaster (thanks for telling me about it, Catherine!).

This week is one of mourning, but it’s also a chance to let our sadness turn to zeal, to throw off the excuses of our ignorance and make a real change in our consumer habits and in the way we view workers in countries less stable than our own.

Yay, glad you saw it! It’s very informative and really puts a face and name to some of the workers there.
