Fashioning Change is a wondrous website I heard about in the comments section of Delightfully Tacky’s newest blog post on ethical fashion. Simply take a quiz on your clothing preferences, budget, and style icons and the site matches you up with fair trade/eco-certified clothing and accessories that appeal to your personal taste. Each product listing describes in detail how the item was sourced and produced so that you can rest assured that you’re making a positive purchase.
After tinkering around briefly on the site, I was introduced to the brand, Etrican, out of Singapore. They care for both their laborers and the environment and items are produced from organic cotton. Prices are comparable to that of ModCloth or Gap.
Even in the week since I started this blog, I’ve been so encouraged by the change I see afoot in the hearts of consumers and manufacturers. Things will get better as long as we continue to push toward a more humane and more just world.
